T Natarajan, a quintessential left-arm pacer for India at present?

E ver since the retirement of one of India's finest left-arm pacers Zaheer Khan, there has always been a question mark about the perfect pacer to step into his shoes.  However, selectors have done their best by giving the opportunities to the likes of Jaydev Unadkat, Barinder Sran and even Khaleel Ahmed of late. But none of them were able to make an impact. As we know, left-arm pacers always have a natural angle to right-hand batsmen and if mastered the in-swing art perfectly, they can be lethal at it. We've seen many left-arm pacers who could in-swing into the right handers successfully. Wasim Akram, Mitchell Starc, Mitchell Johnson, Trent Boult, etc. Even RP Singh showed immense potential of deceiving the batsmen with his in-swingers in his initial years, before his swing disappeared. A forgetful season for foreign spinners.

Delhi Capitals, a team which possessed immense amount of talent right from the beginning of this IPL season, lacked in a few departments which could’ve been easily sorted. Tough luck started for DC during the initial start of the tournament when their go to leggie veteran Amit Mishra got injured. A certain amount of pressure of delivering performance came on to another super experienced Ravi Ashwin. Delhi seemed really stable line up amongst all the 8 teams and were literally unmatchable in the initial stage, but what they lacked was another helping hand to Ashwin which could’ve created pressure for the oppositions from the other end. It was really unfortunate to see the Nepal born cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane didn’t even get a single match to showcase his skills in such a big league.
